Espresso Tonic
Cold tonic water and hot espresso should not work as well as they do. The carbonation lifts the espresso and the slight bitterness of the tonic sharpens the coffee rather than hiding it. With a squeeze of lime over ice it becomes one of those drinks that is simple enough to make every day and interesting enough to want to.
Ingredients
- 1 espresso
- 150 to 200ml tonic water
- 1/2 lime, juiced
- 1 handful of ice
Instructions
- Fill a glass with ice.
- Add tonic water and a squeeze of lime.
- Brew one espresso with your MyBlend Portable Espresso Machine.
- Pour the espresso gently over the tonic and ice. Stir once and drink.
Tip: Pour the tonic into the glass first and the espresso last, in a slow steady stream over the back of a spoon. This keeps the layers distinct for the first few seconds — and gives the carbonation time to settle rather than fizzing over.
